The Objets Nomades Collection, enriched with 10 new items, will be presented during Fuori Salone in Milan, from April 4th to 9th at Palazzo Bocconi.

Created in 2012, the Objets Nomades collection keeps alive Louis Vuitton’s long tradition of beautifully crafted travel objects. Some of the world’s most renowned designers have since imagined stunning travel-inspired Objets, which have then been made by Louis Vuitton.

The limited editions and experimental prototypes that make up the Objets Nomades collection all pay homage to the House’s special orders of the past and add the defiantly contemporary visions of creative designers from around the world: Atelier Oï, Maarten Baas, Barber and Osgerby, the Campana Brothers, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, Marcel Wanders, and, most recently, India Mahdavi and Tokujin Yoshioka.

Today, there are 25 Objets Nomades and 10 among them will be presented for the first time during Fuori Salone in Milano. From a hammock to a deckchair, from a swing chair to a foldable stool. Each Objet embodies the same ideals: a love of the beauty of fine materials, the possibility of forms and carefully balanced proportions, complex and meticulous craftsmanship, and close attention to detail.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents a selection of the collection from Sergei Shchukin, leading industrialist and visionary Russian collector.

From October 22, 2016 to February 20, 2017, the Fondation Louis Vuitton features an exhibition that pays tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art.

From the end of the 19th century, Sergei Shchukin, the leading Moscow industrialist, began to integrate himself into the Parisian arts milieu of the era, which tasked itself with defending the impressionist, post-impressionist and modern movements. Shchukin forged relationships with modern art dealers Paul Durand-Ruel, Berthe Weill, Ambroise Vollard, Georges Bernheim and Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, and celebrated artists Monet and Matisse. These friendships heavily influenced the formation of his collection, which remains one of the most radical art collections of its time.

  • FASHION EYE BOOKS COLLECTION

This fall Louis Vuitton adds five new titles to Fashion Eye, its collection of photography books.

Celebrating the art of travel since 1854, this fall Louis Vuitton adds five new titles to Fashion Eye, its collection of photography books.

Five photographers invite us to travel to new horizons: Monte Carlo by Helmut Newton, New York by Saul Leiter, Berlin by Peter Lindbergh, British Columbia by Sølve Sundsbø and Morocco by Vincent Van de Wijngaard. As in the first wave of publications by Guy Bourdin, Jeanloup Sieff, Wing Shya, Kourtney Roy and Henry Clarke, each album highlights a city, a region or a country through the gaze of a fashion photographer.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton presents the exhibition "Icons of Modern Art - The Shchukin Collection" from October 22, 2016

From October 22, 2016 to February 20, 2017, the Fondation Louis Vuitton features an exhibition that pays tribute to one of the greatest art patrons of the early 20th century, Sergei Shchukin, the visionary Russian collector of French modern art, whose collection “remains little known to the general western public even today” states Anne Baldassari, curator of the exhibition. “In fact, since it was broken up in 1948 it has never been gathered as a singular and coherent artistic entity”, continues Baldassari.

Thanks to the generous contribution of the Hermitage Museum and the Pushkin Museum, the exhibition presents a significant ensemble of 130 major pieces of French modern art in dialogue with 30 works of Russian avant-garde art. Throughout his life  Shchukin collected works by impressionists, post-impressionists and modern masters including Monet, Cézanne, Gauguin, Rousseau, Derain, Matisse, Picasso, Degas, Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Van Gogh.
