  • MASTERS - A COLLABORATION WITH JEFF KOONS

Louis Vuitton unveils the second collection of bags and accessories designed with the world-renowned contemporary artist on October 27, 2017.

In recent years, Louis Vuitton has affirmed its engagement with the world of art through a series of high-profile collaborations with the most influential artists of our times. The second series of the Jeff Koons Masters collection builds on that well-established foundation, further exploring the intersection of fashion and art.

This month, Louis Vuitton will launch a second collection conceived with Jeff Koons. Recognised as one of the most influential living artists and based on the artist’s “Masters” series of paintings, this second chapter will debut on October 27 and will include: Reclining Girl by François Boucher; Delightful Land by Paul Gauguin; Luncheon on the Grass by Edouard Manet; Water Lilies by Claude Monet; The Triumph of Pan by Nicolas Poussin (exclusive for Maison Louis Vuitton Vendôme) and Ancient Rome by J.m.W. Turner.

This new set of paintings relates to Koons’ connection to each of the artists. “They are part of my DNA,” Koons says. “When somebody walks down the street with this bag, or sits in a cafe with this bag,” Koons says of the Manet Neverfull, “it’s communicating a love of humanism.”

A closer look at selected details and season signatures from Nicolas Ghesquière's Spring-Summer 2018 collection, as seen from the front row.

During a visit to the Met Museum in New York, Nicolas Ghesquière was inspired by the notion of a perennial style while looking at eighteenth-century French aristocratic garments.

Thus the refinement of ceremonial dress—the abundant brocade, fine embroidery, and exceeding delicacy of period clothing—blends with the dynamic yet casual modernity of clothes today. An elaborate tail coat can drape harmoniously over tapered trousers, and a melancholic dress can flow beautifully down to sneakers from another world.

In this delicate style the House skips across time and dovetails the ages.
